Our Story

It began with a factory visit

One afternoon I went with my mother to see a dear friend of hers — someone who ran a small skincare factory. She thought I'd enjoy watching how her soaps were made, and offered to walk me through the whole process. Measuring oils. Stirring slowly. Pouring the mixture into molds like she was tending to something alive.

Somewhere between the swirl of the batter and the scent of botanicals rising in the air, a thought landed: I could do this. I could really do this.

That evening, I told my mother. She didn't laugh — she rolled up her sleeves. At our own kitchen counter we began experimenting: which oils felt kindest on skin, which botanicals lifted the mood, which combinations my creative brain kept dreaming up. What started as curiosity has grown into Sara's Clean Creates — every bar and jar still made by hand, in small batches, with the same quiet care that first afternoon put in me.

A little history

The story of soap

Soap is one of humanity's oldest inventions — traced back nearly 5,000 years to ancient Babylon, where the earliest known recipe was pressed into a clay tablet: fats, ashes, and water, cooked slowly over fire. The Egyptians made it for bathing. The Romans gave it its name — sapo — from the hills where rain washed animal fat and wood ash into the river and, quite by accident, made washing easier.

For most of history, soap was made the way it's still made here — in small batches, by hand, from plants and oils you can name. The mass-produced bars on today's shelves are a very recent invention. What you'll find at Sara's Clean Creates is much more organic than what you'll find in the market aisle.

What Goes In

Ingredients you can trace

Three principles guide every recipe we pour.

Cold-pressed oils

Organic olive, coconut and shea, pressed without heat so their vitamins and fatty acids stay intact for your skin.

Real botanicals

Calendula, lavender, rose clay and oat — whole-plant extracts and essential oils instead of synthetic "fragrance."

Full transparency

Every ingredient printed in plain language on the label. If we wouldn't use it on our own family, it never makes the cut.

Did You Know?

Handmade soap keeps its glycerin

The natural moisturiser that makes skin feel soft is left in every bar. Mass-produced soaps strip it out and sell it separately as a beauty ingredient.

A good bar takes weeks to cure

Fresh from the mould, soap is still soft and sharp. It’s the slow curing — sometimes 4 to 6 weeks — that makes it mild, long-lasting, and gentle on skin.

Turmeric in skincare is 5,000 years old

Long before “wellness” became a trend, Indian grandmothers were using haldi for glow. Our Turmeric Treasure is part of a very old story.
